my embarassing past...

wow.... wow... just simply wow... have u ever woken up one day and a song u listened to when u were a kid just creeped out of nowhere and comes back to haunt you?!??! well that's what happened to me today...

year: 1990
age: i woul be 8 at this time

i lived at my old house at peachwood and hostetter (if u know where this is then wow, u know my hometown) anyways... we had free disney channel a long time ago and it would be the only thing i would watch... anyhow, there was a pop group that emerged from one of the mickey mouse club (this was before britney, justin, jc, and christina)... disney actually decided to make a band...

the result? The Party

OH MAN!!! who remembers them? or am i smokin crack? i had this one concert they had on tape and me and my cousins would all pretend we were each of the members and dance around my house hella stupid... (yeah, this is an embarassing moment that i'm sure MANY of you don't know.. not even my really close friends and i'm pretty sure my cousins forcefully tried to forget...) i just woke up and remembered it...

i actually bought their album (it was on cassette tape back then... remember what that is?)... this group goes down as one of my weird music things of my history....

now... i most likely liked this cuz i prolly had a crush on the asian girl... her name was DeeDee... hahaha... she then later on went to play as Miss Saigon in the broadway musical... i won't deny it... i think she's kinda cute... in a 1990's sort of way... hahha

and good old faithful youtube has satisfied my retro throwback by storing their first (and quite possibly ONLY) music video....

ladies and gentlemen.... i bring you....

The Party - I Found Love

(one of disney's first attempts at brainwashing and for a while it worked on me)

other videos:
The Party - Sugar is Sweet
The Party - Summer Vacation
The Party - That's Why

for those of u that don't remember... here's a bio that u can read up on about them here:

Brief Description:
As you probably know, the careers of Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, J.C. Chasez & Christina Aguilera can all be traced back to a single source... the All New Mickey Mouse Club. The show used the adjectives All & New to make it clear that it was not the same as the earlier failures to keep the idea on the air, but a completely independent attempt to cash in on the success of You Can't Do That On Television. All of those pop stars became famous well after they left the show, but before their windows were opened, a door happened to be closed. It's often forgotten that Disney actually tried putting a pop group together on their own in the early '90s. With that, I give you the rise & fall of The Party.
