24 meets 23

these two clips pretty much sums the passing of the torch in my eyes from one great player to another... yes... i bandwagoned on the michael jordan train only because he was so great... so impossible to guard that i marveled at every move he made on the floor...

enter mr. Kobe Bryant...

still sporting the number 8 i will always remember these two games because watching Kobe and Michael going at it against eachother in both the regular season and the all-star game... i knew who the successor for all my basketball fandom would transfer to... the "future" of the NBA as the commentators and MJ even said... funny how it became true... but watching both dunking, laying up, reverse-layups, three pointers, fade aways, and-1's... these two were something special and it was during this year that i was both a Michael Jordan fan and a Kobe Bryant fan.. and i'm proud to say that Kobe was not a bandwagon choice... i've liked him through the good times and the bad... ups... downs... trade talks... i'm not a real lakers fan... i'm a kobe fan... had kobe gone to another team i would be rooting for that team only because of Kobe

i watched this video again and realized where kobe got the motivation for the spot up jump shot, the fades, and the killer mentality... kobe took a page out of michael's playbook by understanding what's ungaurdable... the footwork... the pump fakes... kobe got caught in MJ's pump fakes and learned to do it to perfection (and maybe even better than the master) and credit to MJ for teaching kobe the importance of defense...

he is.. and always will be my most favorite player in the sport of basketball

who's next in line? Lebron? hell no... but during this postseason i may have found my future successor once kobe has hung up his shoes...

the next future of the NBA... Kevin Durant

still has a ways to go to learn from the master... but i think he's going to be the next one
