well, there's always one that happens every year.... david tyree.... TO's catch against the packers while with the niners.... and here's my play for the 2010 season which happened last night....
let me roll you all through the story by each moment that went through my body. So last night was the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game....

A game that normally means absolutely nothing to me (now that my fantasy football team has died) but there's another type of fantasy game that I play, it's called Yahoo Sports Pick'em, where each week, you pick which team is going to win with a spread and input tiebreakers among your other colleagues and see who guessed the most correctly.
Well this week (similar to the past 3 weeks) i was sitting on top with the most points, beating the next best person by 1 point and it pretty much all came down to the MNF game going in with a one point cushion. Normally I don't check until the end of the week but everyone kept telling me that this was the 3rd week in a row that i'm sitting at the top so I paid attention this time.
Once i got home I turned on MNF only to tune into the Houston Texans 13 and the Ravens 28. I turned on my computer to find that I had chosen Houston Texans to win with the help of a 3 point spread against the Ravens so i was like.... CRAP!!!! thankfully mike reminded me to check the tiebreakers and the way Yahoo Sports does tiebreakers is they take the MNF score and add them together and take your tiebreaker score and add them together and see who got the closest. So my score added to 44, my rival who was going to tie me chose 53, so even if Houston loses, i will win in tie breaker.... SWEET!!! 11 minutes left in the 4th quarter and the Texans score a touchdown.... CRAP!!!! now that made it 20-28.
But again mikey pointed out its still okay, the score added up to 48 right now so I would be closer with my 44 than my rivals 53, AS LONG AS NOBODY SCORES ANYMORE!!!!! But luck be have it, the texans get the ball back late int he 4th and are marching down the field. i remember thinking to myself, if they score anymore then my only chances of winning is if texans win or lose by less than 3 pts. and of course.... TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!

and there goes my tiebreaker score.... but i told myself... its okay.... its okay.... if they fail the 2pt conversion then i win because the texans cover the spread right??? RIGHT?!?!?!?!? successful 2pt conversion, game is tied. 16 seconds left.
I gave myself another glitter of hope.... the ravens COULD do an awesome 40 yard pass to anquan boldin and setup a field goal.... leaving the game as a push and I win outright.... but alas, they chose to run it instead and take their chances in OT....
So here we are. 28-28. My tiebreaker is now gone because the point total is in my rival's favor now. Overtime. when OT first started, i reasoned to myself. oh, it's okay.... i have a 75% chance of winning. of the 4 different possibilities to score in OT, 3 of them will allow me to win. A Ravens Field Goal, a Texans Field Goal, or a Texans Touchdown would all cause me to win. ONLY a Ravens Touchdown will cause me to lose.
Coin Flip. Ravens got it. It's okay, i thought, most OT's end on a clutch field goal and if the ravens do, i still win.
But the Texans were on a mission and they stopped the Ravens, only prolonging my torture. With the ball deep on their 10yard line, Matt Shaub on the texans was almost sacked for a safety.... i was yelling NO NO NO!!!! but then i thought... wait.... that would also make me win!!!
I thought to myself, my odds just got a lot better, it wasn't 3/4, it was 5/6. A ravens safety or a texans safety would also allow me to win because I have the spread in my favor and safety is only 2 pts. i was gleaming with happiness at this point. the announcers even said they caught someone holding in the endzone, and fun-fact, if you are holding in the endzone it's an automatic safety and that would have sealed the game for me.
on the next play.... the play that will live in infamy for me.... matt shaub eludes a sack in the endzone for another possible safety, throws the pass.... PICKED

by the ravens.... ran for a.... you guessed it.... RAVENS TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!
I was screaming at the top of my lungs at the pick.... hands up in the air..... mikey was left speechless sitting on the couch.... NO WAY...... and as the player crossed the endzone, my knee's gave out and i fell to the couch.... deflated.... disgusted... and all i could think to myself was that had to be karma at work.... me being so smug about the odds I had once i turned on the game.... and yes, i lost this week in Pick'em.... BAH!!!!!!!!
this just goes to show, anything can happen in football.... ANYTHING
