So Long Kid

not very many people know this about me probably because this was all at a point before my adult life and none of my friends really shared this passion but my favorite baseball player of all time is Ken Griffey Jr.

If anyone keeps up with baseball, they know that he recently retired calling it quits but looking at him in recent pictures he still looks like a Kid. haha, always known as "Junior" or "The Kid" or "The Natural" he had one of the sweetest swings in all of baseball and when he was up at bat, it was a thing of beauty.

baseball lately has been known for pitching, but at the plate this guy made me forget who was pitching at him and demoralized most pitchers on the mound in his hay-days.

i still remember when he slammed it out of the park against an A's game that i was watching to put the mariners out of reach and iced the game for them. i was at that game and i knew in the 9th inning, when i looked up at the billboard and saw the batting lineup that if Ken Griffey Jr. was going up to the plate say goodbye to that ball... i called it... and it happened

and now that he's retired, i saw the commercial nike did for him as a tribute to the kid

oh yes and i still own his Rookie Card =)
