my rant

i think it's been a while since i've blogged and i wanted to take this opportunity to talk about a subject that has been recurring for me for a while now.

each morning while getting ready for work i've been watching the news and maybe every other day the same story goes on and on about the BART protests and how furious the riders are that BART officials turned off cell-phone service during a previous protest / strike to avoid riding bart.

REALLY?!?!

you are going to start a protest, because BART officials turned off cell service to your phones during yet a DIFFERENT protest?

then i hear from these interviews of people complaining about how BART had no right to turn off the cell phone service because "what if i needed to contact my family?" or "what if there was an emergency?"

people today have become VERY spoiled with the technology that's given to them. it got me reminiscing about how we communicated back then before cell phones, before pagers, before email, before facetime. did people complain then? how did you handle emergencies then? or how about how did you contact your family then if you wanted to? what if a REAL emergency happened and ALL cell phone service went down, did these people not properly leave their houses in secure hands or are they purely reliant on the technology that is in place today? taking the little things for granted like asking a friend of neighbor to check on your family if something were to ever happen.

and so, after all of this, the BART riders arranged a protest about BART trying to prevent their last protest. this thing is so never-ending that nobody really cares what the original protest was about, it's just the "new fad" to protest about. seriously, do people have NOTHING better to do? again, i want to emphasize.... do people have NOTHING BETTER TO DO?!?!?!

stay at home and be a parent... go do community service... do house work... read a book.... shit do something productive with your lives!!!!

sorry, i think watching the news has made me really cynical with this world... the world is really retarded... i got another rant about the idiots who fought at Candlestick during the niners/raiders game.... paid $200 to talk shit to one another... get into a fight... and go to jail... best.... money.... ever.... spent....
