The Avengers

so... my avengers story...

i wanted to take my mom and dad to go see this movie even tho they had never seen the iron man or thor movies prior to this movie because i know with my parents... it's all about just going to the movies, not watching things in continuity... plus been wanting to spend more time with them...

so anyhow, lena and i arranged for the family to go watch the avengers on sunday morning and we decided to go to eastridge since they had the earliest showtime (11:10am)  so we got ready and got to eastridge at 10:30 and of course... SOLD OUT i was like... fuuuuuck... adn there was HELLA people at the theatres!!!!

so we ended up getting tickets to 12:20... my parents walked around the mall while lena and i went in to go line up  (oh, btw... we used AMC gold tickets to get in...)  so we get there and our ticket was 12:20pm at theatre 14... so we are walking in and we see a line of people fairly close to the entrance and the paper said:  The Avengers 12:20pm Theatre #7... oh... okay, must not be for us then since we have theatre 14 (logical right?)  so we walk all the way through and get to theatre 14 (it's one of the smaller theatres which i would normally complain about but didn't want that to ruin the movie)  and we see like... 10 poeple in line... SWEET... gonna get great seats... and so lena and i stand there and wait...  even tho the corded area doesn't have a sign... it was standing right outside theatre 14 so naturally... this SHOULD be the line...

next thing u know a AMC worker comes over to our line  and says "This is NOT the line for theatre 14!!!  everyone here for the 12:20 showing should be standing in the main line back towards the entrance..."  and we were fucking dejected... like REALLY?  there's HELLA pepole in the other line already.... and that paper says theatre 7!!!!!  we're obviously NOT theatre 7 and then they go... "yeah well this theatre is overflow from 7 so we will bring people who are in theatre 14 in that line int theatre14 first before you guys and then you can go..."  and me and lena were freaked out... so after like 2 minutes of arguing we go back to the main line but some poeple stayed... we're likc fuck it... don't risk it... so we go back to the line and i'm wondering why i'm not seeing everyone that was from the 14 line over in the main line... so i get out of line and talk to one of the workers that told us that we were in the wrong line and she said that people in the main line will have priority over those waiting in front of 14... i asked her PACIFICALLY if that were true and that i would be reassured that i will be allowed to go in first before they did... i didn't want a shitty experience for my parents or myself cuz i've been waiting for this movie for like forever...

so time comes to let us in and they ferry us by groups into the appropriate theatre (whether it's 7 or 14)  and so when it was our turn we started walking through and turned the corner to see 14... and of course... just as you know it.....  that line got to go in first....

got into the theatre and ALL THE GOOD SEATS ARE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

y'know how when u enter a theatre u can split it into two sections, there's the back section where all the good seats are because it places you within eye level of the screen... then there's the front section where ur basically looking up...

WELL ONLY THE FRONT SECTION WAS CLEAR and the back section was all used up!!!!!!!  i was internally pissed.... but i didn't want to ruin my time so luckily we got center stage in the front section but FURTHEST back you could be... so basically the last row in front section... which turned out to not be all that bad... 

the time was already 12:15 and movie started at 12:20 but my parents wanted popcorn so i left to go get popcorn... on the way to the popcorn line i saw the original guy that was telling us we were in the wrong line and i wanted an explanation of what happened... i didn't cause a scene... i didn't yell... i just wanted an explanation of what happened because the workers told me we would have priority over that line and me and my family followed the rules as stated... he told me that the group in the small line called the manager over and the manager caved in and let them go in first and i told them that wasn't cool... i explained to him that that sux that you told us... we followed the rules... and we ended up getting screwed over on not so great seats even after having showed up an hour and a half before showtime...

he apologized... and then offered free tickets and still allowed us to see the movie... so now i have 4 free passes to ANY movie... (even 3d imax) completely free... no added charge like with gold tickets... we still had fairly decent seats and although we had to look up slightly, the sound was better up at front thatn from behind because the speakers are actually behind you....

and the movie was fucking phenomeballs.... but it was even MORE phenomeballs because the entire movie as i was eating my popcorn and enjoying prolly one of the best movie's i've seen all year with my gf, my mom, and my dad... i had this smile on my face knowing... that the movie.... was

FREE  

oh and yes... the movie was AMAZEBALLS!!!!
