every few years or so i go through a phase where i begin to re-read every single calvin and hobbes comic created. i love it for the artwork, the humor, and there's always a few strips when even after having read it maybe a hundred times before i find a different meaning to it. i wish there was a college course on Bill Watterson's psyche. the strips that he make can be interpreted so many different ways and one could write essays upon essays based on the messages brought on through these strips. even the artwork and the panel decision is on point every time and i marvel at how masterful watterson was by creating these little pieces of genius each and every week for so many years.
i guess the reason why i bring this up is i'm returning to my roots and rekindling one of the few things that really bring joy into my life and that is Calvin and Hobbes.
My next home project is to blow up a lot of the artwork and frame them around the house. DK linked me to this site that has a collection of high resolution photos of Calvin and Hobbes and hopefully I can turn these into wonderful pieces of art.

it's simple yes... but at the same time, it's me. just a boy, his imagination, and the endless fun that ensues from being with his best friend in the whole wide world. in a way i'm a lot like calvin (yes i act like i'm 5 years old) with his short temper, wild imagination, and constant daydreaming to get through the boring parts of the day. i bet if i go through the comics a few more times i could find so many references that make me the person that i am today....
