Halo Knight

for the past couple of weeks i have shunned away from listening to most songs that have words in it.  mainly because most songs these days are either talking about being in love or breaking up or cheating.... topics of which i cannot handle or care for much these days.

so i've reached back and pulled out a lot of cinematic scores, soundtracks, and classical music to just fill my mind with inspiration or just bring some ambient noise to an otherwise very quiet house (except when ella hears the doorbell).

lately i've been listening to the Dark Knight soundtrack and Hans Zimmer is a genius (but we all already knew that from the Gladiator Soundtrack or The Rock) but in this sound track he's able to blend darkness, suspsense, thrill, and action all into an intricate blend of sounds and tones.

and my favorite song so far has been this one:

for those that have seen the Dark Knight, you can sense the duality in the overture.  transitioning from dark to light or light to dark.  i feel a part of me associates with that in some way but at the same time whenever i listen to this song, i can't help but think of Halo as well.   Doesn't it share many Halo-like tones and build-ups?  I am very impressed and maybe it's time for me to download some Halo soundtracks also.
