Timing is everything...

This picture pretty much sums up my luck with timing in almost everything i do (i guess it doesn't help that one of my main functions in work also has to deal with "timing" but in a totally different and totally nerdy engineering way).

but aside from my daily job function, my life constantly revolves around bad timing and catching things at the most inopportune time.  now why does this picture seem so relevant?  because of what it says at the bottom.... "once you've already committed, follow thru to the finish"  which is something i've learned to embrace throughout my unfortunate events of bad timing.

what i've learned is that there usually is never a good time for anything.  very rarely do you ever catch anything at the correct time.   you get sick at the worst possible moment.   your vacation that you've been looking forward to for months just happens to land on a major deadline at work due to moving deadlines.   or even something as simple as calling someone only to find that of all the possibilities you can catch someone, chances are they are always in the middle of something (unless ur a complete hermit like myself).

when is there a good time for anything?   the quote above pretty much tells me that there is never a good time for anything, but what you do with that time is the key.   when you do take that vacation at the worst possible time, don't waste away in your vacation obsessed about something you no longer have any control over.   it'll be there when you get back and worrying about it on your vacation won't make it any less or better when u return to it, so why even bother?   commit to your vacation and enjoy what time you have with whoever ur with.   or when you get sick at the worst possible moment.... fess up to it and do what you can to get better as fast as possible instead of trying to drag it out by trying to act like a trooper.   and lastly, calling someone only to catch him/her in the middle of something.   if i had a nickel for every time this has happened...... i prolly wouldn't have that many nickels.... but still.... make best with whatever moment you got and hopefully in the end things work out for the best.

once u've already committed, follow through with it.  make the most of the opportunity presented to you, no matter how fortunate or unfortunate that opportunity is.... it's still an opportunity....  understand there is never a good time, but the times u do choose to spend, make the most out of it.... u may find that in the end you'll live with less and less regrets as you look back at all the things you made the most out of in your life despite the adversity it took to enjoy it....
