before my latest camping trip i sat down in front of my Desktop computer (yeah.... i still own a desktop computer at home) and fired it up after maybe a year or so and started sifting through my music to make some playlists for me and my family to jam to while we're driving / sitting around the campfire for the weekend...
as i was going through my music i was making a 90's playlist and this song came on somehow:
It may have been close to 15 years since i've last heard this song and i felt a sudden rush take over me.... you know that kind of feeling when you remember feeling a certain way?
well the story behind this song goes waaaaaay back... i may actually be 11 or 12 years old and me and my family were at a distant family friend's Cotillion (y'know... the filipino version of a quinceanera) and we were in either San Francisco or Daly City (chances are Daly City) and i remember the hall very dark and i believe this was the father/daughter dance song that the family chose and i recognized this girl from across the room.... i remember her being INCREDIBLY beautiful, well... given my 12 year old taste in women.... she was definitely older than me at the time... maybe 16 - 18 and just having the BIGGEST crush on her at the time... never did find out her name but yeah, when this song came on it just brought up what may have been my first legitimate crush at the time and i guess i've always tied this song to that moment
