about a week ago, i was in the mood for a new book to read, having finished Dan Brown's book The Lost Symbol and falling a little flat towards the end, it left my thirst for a good quality book still hanging in the balance.
Recommended from my girlfriend who heard good things about this series, I decided to give it a shot. most books i give it a good day's worth of read to get me enthralled and continue reading it. Within the first day I was already hooked and with only 40 pages left to go I am determined to finish the book this evening and move on to the second book in the trilogy.
all i have to say about this book without giving too much of it away is that it is action packed, a great main character, perfect post-apocalyptic world setting... and if i had to relate it to anything i've encountered in my life before, i would say it is a good representation of Final Fantasy VII meets Naruto's Chunnin Exams. I doubt many of you know what i'm talking about with those two references but if you do and ur intrigued, i HIGHLY recommend this book.
I did a quick search and this is pretty close to how it's been playing in my head:

Hunger Games was a really good read. I killed through each book in the trilogy in a day.
