Friendship

This is definitely a byproduct of having seen this movie and having Ella.... but this may be one of my most all-time favorite scenes from a movie ever:

How To Train Your Dragon

The music that accompanies it, composed by John Powell is a perfect blend of innocence, wonder, and a growing sense of companionship between the two characters.  Yeah, i'm almost certain a lot of it has to do with owning my first pet as well, but see the thing is i don't really see Ella as a pet.  She truly is a friend who will sit with you when you're watching tv, lay with you in bed when you're sick, or will always be in the mood to play or cheer you up when you're having a bad day.  I know she has thoughts in her head, she'll watch me and observe me as i'm doing stuff as toothless watches hiccup drawing, and i can't help but smile at the curiosity that Ella brings with her in whatever we do together.

How to Train Your Dragon may have been the most surprising movie i've watched back in 2011.  Walking into that movie, i had absolutely no idea what to expect out of this movie and pretty much went to go watch it because my friend wanted to see the movie and I had nothing better to do on that day.  But after having seen the movie, it's one of the few that i've added to my list that i could watch just about any time and watch it from beginning to end.  The movie has this very warm and inviting tone to it throughout the whole movie that you can't help but just want a dragon at the end, or the next best thing, a companion to share all your troubles with.

Truly belongs on my list of "favorite movies of all time"
