The magic is gone....

I'm sure everyone has come across this item at some point in their lives.... the Magic Wallet.... was it u ask?  it's this nifty small wallet that when u fold it from one side to another the contents inside the wallet get trapped neatly inside the elastic bands to keep all your crap neat and together....  if you STILL don't know what i mean, i'm sure u've all seen this if u've ever walked into a J. Crew store

so, since all the travelling i've done in the past month what i typically like to do is switch from my traditional wallet that i keep stowed in my back pocket to my magic wallet where I can keep it in my front pocket (i'm paranoid like that).   

Anyhow, one thing i've noticed is that when i DID have my magic wallet on hand that it was very difficult when it came time to pay for things.   It was rather embarrassing when the time came to pay for stuff and you're fiddling through your wallet trying to count everything out; and at the same time i guess it just feels a little tacky or unnecessary pretentiousness (real word?) to flash all that cash out when all u need is a $20 and maybe a $5.   Much to my dismay i was suddenly feeling the limitations to my magic wallet versus my regular style wallet that i can't just easily flip it out, spread it and count out how ever many bills that i have (i'm a bit ocd when it comes to my wallet and how i arrange my cash) so during my travels i realized that i didn't really need to use the "magic" feature of my magic wallet.   (sacrilege?)   I instead devised (like i invented it or something) a way to arrange some sets of bills on one side to be half-trapped by the magic wallet, and another set of bills to be half trapped on the other side.   Think of it as a glorified money-clip that's double sided and yet when folded together still maintains the security and low-profile of the magic wallet which fits my desire.... but now when i do get my bills or fit new bills in, instead of "trapping" my bills a-la magic wallet style, now it just slides in like a money clip....

Why is this at all relevant?  it isn't.... it's friday... and i'm bored.... and my wallet was sitting in front of me at my desk and that's all that inspired me to write about... sorry if anyone was expecting any more than that
